Vintage 12 String Guitars
Built in the era when men were men, women were women has this changed? This was the time when US-built cars were 2-ton behemoths and the Japanese dared to export the little Toyotas At the same time, the Japanese figured out how to build guitars. And build them well. Despite a decent build provenance, this little puppy suffered in its earlier life.
Or maybe it was just well-loved.

Equipment setup – What, why, what next? Page 1 of 1 I’ve recently started getting a bit more serious about music, and have been investing in getting a good setup going. Thought it might be interesting to find out what sort of rigs people are using, why and what if anything you plan to add to your setup. My setup at the moment is as follows: It lets me line in from my computer so I can jam with my mp3s when I practice, and the headphones help me isolate my amplified sound from my accoustic sound so I can hear what I’m doing.
I can have lots of people patch their instruments in to my surround sound if they don’t have amps with them, or patch them in and continue to use their amps to adjust their sound when we’re recording jams. And the whole setup including my speakers fits in a laundry basket.
The 10 Best Classical Guitar With Takamines
A couple of decades ago, Takamine imitated the look of Martin’s guitars, right down to the square headstock and gold script decal, and their guitars were quite good at that time. I still see early ’80s Takamines at some bluegrass jam sessions, and they don’t sound bad at all. But do contemporary Takamines compare?

Before making that musical instrument purchase, however, make sure you have carefully considered all the important factors when shopping for a digital piano. Why a digital piano? Are you sufficiently aware of its differences from and advantages over the traditional acoustic piano? What it normally has instead are electronic sound chips and speakers, as well as various keyboard and instrument sounds like that of strings, flutes, percussions, harpsichords, organs, etc.
Of course a digital piano, no matter how expensive, does not come without disadvantages. It may be good for beginners, but it does not provide enough features and authenticity for advanced piano techniques and skills as an acoustic piano can provide. There are other concerns which you should keep in mind when looking for a good digital piano, such as range, sound, polyphony, design, and speaker system. Polyphony is important because a good digital piano acoustically masks notes, and not drop them abruptly while you are playing multiple notes or big, complex chords.

This is one of the most frustrating questions from the MIJ collector. People often make the mistake of citing the American or European importer as the ‘maker’ of the guitar, when in fact several Japanese manufacturers were producing badged guitars out of their plants and shipping them to America and Europe to sell. Japanese manufacturers made multiple badges at the same plant, many of whom resemble each other closely.

I am very pleased to show off my collection, and to share my love for these beautiful instruments with you. Recently, I teamed up with two fantastic, enthusiastic collectors, John and Kim Hornbacher, who are helping me offer more guitars for sale and for show, and who are assisting me in updating the information about each Japanese guitar brand.
I honestly have not changed much about my site since it went up years ago, and while most of the information is still accurate albeit unlawfully copied and pasted into other newer sellers’ websites , much more has come to light that I’d like to share with all of you. It is a labor of love that I hope will enjoy as much as I do. A question I get all the time: So, how did you get into Japanese guitars in the first place?
I lived in Yokosuka, Japan, from the years ; I accepted a teaching position there and never even knew about Japanese guitars until one evening I received a phone call from a friend who went up to Tokyo looking for skis or something random like that. I answered the phone and had to pull the phone away from my ear I can’t even tell you how many guitars there are here.

Like many words in our society, this one is oft used, seldom understood. Find an old Ibanez that is a copy of another, more familiar guitar? I have seen guitars go for much more than they are actually worth simply because the purchaser has fallen for the hype or actually didn’t know what constitutes a “lawsuit” model. Here is my attempt to clear up an urban legend, and, in the words of Chuck D.

Up for sale is my Takamine G series acoustic bass. It has been a good bass but hasnt been used in years. Presently it is missing its bridge pick up and will need to be put back together. The bass comes with all the parts, as per photos, but you will need to buy a new piazo bridge pick up; approx dollars. The price reflects this. Aside from the missing pick up, this guitar is in very good condition.
I simply no longer use it and it needs to be played so I’m looking for a new home for it. Awesome tone and despite being a very large guitar it is easy to play. You must log in to view questions and answers on this listing. We recommend reading questions before you make any purchases.

ANy more then a vocal and a guitar id use either a pick or start plugging. Yes I know the laws of physics are against ABGs, but hey, my thunderchief holds its own very well unplugged, even with TIs. I was just wondering if Labelle tapewounds and others had a slight volume advantage over my current TI setup. I’ve always dreamed of having a offset sound hole just because it was unique and different. Definitely a head turner. There was no competition on which had more volume, tone, and overall performance.
